In a bizarre partnership that breaks conventional predictions, Ubisoft has announced an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Adventure Revealed

According to the formal announcement, "An unusual meeting draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where rumors of forbidden rituals and fearsome metamorphoses reverberate through the obscurity." The narrative introduces a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a clandestine cult.

The questline centers on "peculiar experiments and a monstrous enemy" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Locations and Metamorphoses

The preview features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer ends with a powerful scene showing a character, probably the captive, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Rewards and Extra Features

Players who successfully complete the mission will obtain an unique katana together with multiple objects secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

• Mikasa outfit for Naoe
• Exclusive weapons
• Survey Corps vehicle

Third Free Story Addition

This patch also brings the game's latest no-cost story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive skills: Naoe reveals a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

This represents not the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with well-known anime franchises. The series previously included a 2020 cross-promotional story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
